About the Role
The Sr. Business Development Associate is on the front lines of CLS Health’s growth and strategy. This role is all about driving expansion by meeting directly with independent physicians and opening doors for new acquisitions. Spending about 75% of the time in the field, this position requires someone who can be a hunter — proactive, persuasive, and relentless in building relationships that translate into real growth opportunities.
As the first point of contact with potential practice partners, you’ll shape how physicians see the value of joining CLS Health, while working hand-in-hand with the M&A team to turn those conversations into successful acquisitions.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Proactively identify and visit independent physician practices across Houston and surrounding areas.
- Pitch CLS Health’s value, including improved contracts, operational support, and equity opportunities.
- Build and maintain a pipeline of acquisition targets with consistent follow-up.
- Develop and implement outreach strategies — primarily through in-person visits, but also through email campaigns, conference attendance, and other creative approaches.
- Schedule meetings between interested practices and CLS leadership.
- Provide weekly reports on visits, meetings, and activity.
- Work closely with the M&A team on acquisition targets and due diligence.
- Represent CLS Health professionally at networking events and medical society meetings.
- Contribute to projects that expand CLS Health’s physician network and market presence.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in business development, healthcare sales, or physician relations.
- Proven track record of success in field-based sales or business development roles.
- Must have the mindset to be a hunter — proactive, persistent, and results-driven.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Existing knowledge of or relationships with physician practices in the Houston market.
- Location: Greater Houston area (field travel required, ~75%).
- Compensation: Competitive base salary plus commission tied directly to acquisitions.
