Production Supervisor

Location: Onsite, Webster, Texas.
Travel: No travel.

Position Overview

Under limited supervision, the Production Supervisor will oversee and coordinate day‑to‑day production activities, leading a team of production workers with guidance, training and support to ensure effective performance.

Functions
  • Supervises daily activities of a production area to ensure volume, cost, waste and quality standards are achieved.
  • Coordinates work schedules, staffing requirements and production sequences to maximize productivity.
  • Monitors production activity, identifies process problems, troubleshoots causes and develops solutions.
  • Suggests improvements to enhance efficiencies or safety, delivers or coordinates staff training and on‑boards new staff.
  • Ensures all safety policies and processes are followed.
  • Performs other job‑related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Screen applications, interview candidates and recommend individuals for hiring.
  • Train and assign work to new and continuing employees.
  • Delegate tasks and provide effective direction to team members to produce substantial business results.
  • Conduct frequent performance feedback weekly, quarterly and annually, including annual performance evaluations.
  • Make recommendations for salary increases, merit increases and reclassifications.
  • In conjunction with HR, determine corrective action as needed for direct reports.
Requirements Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience.
  • Experience scheduling production activities and personnel required.
  • Science, technology or math background preferred.

Physical Demands/Work Environment
  • Sedentary work primarily involves sitting/standing; may also involve light or medium work requiring occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Standing for long periods, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching are generally required.
  • Noisy environments, hazardous conditions, small or enclosed spaces, operating machinery or power tools, repeating motions of wrists, hands, and fingers may occur occasionally.
  • Adjusting or moving objects up to 25 pounds in all directions; remaining stationary for prolonged periods.
  • Moving around to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another may occur occasionally.
  • Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like is occasionally required.
Special Conditions
  • Employment contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check.
  • Must be able to work varying hours and locations based on business needs.
