You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and will perform as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations.

You will determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results. The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) works under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager) and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues.
The Medical Support Specialist will be familiar with regulations of the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment and follows guidance from Bio Life Medical Affairs to provide center-level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS).
- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
- Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including physician standing orders and transport to emergency care facilities.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance.
- Support hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER; refer to EHS guidance for employee incidents.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, supporting investigations of pandemic threats in the local community.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
- Current license or certification in the state where responsibilities will be assigned:
Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA). - Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Completion of FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

U.S. Hourly Wage Range: $31.92 - $43.89
The estimated hourly wage range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual hourly wage offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant, years of relevant experience, specific skills, level of education, certifications, and the location of the applicant.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short‑term incentives and may participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with company match, short‑term and long‑term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and other well‑being benefits. U.S. based employees are also eligible to accrue up to 80 hours of sick time per calendar year, and new hires may accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
