Hours & Work Schedule40 weekly minimum. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 8:00 AM‑5:30 PM;
Friday 8:00 AM‑3:00 PM;
Wednesday 12:00 PM‑8:30 PM. Hours may vary as required.
Provide housing case‑management assistance to non‑residential program participants who have fled domestic violence or sexual assault living environments. Offer casework both in the office and at participants’ homes after they exit emergency shelter and are in their own homes. Encourage participation in BATP‑facilitated after‑care support groups to prevent returns to crisis and homelessness. Provide transportation assistance to continued services and programs, assess families’ needs, and connect them to resources such as clothing, furniture, food, and more.
EssentialFunctions
- Conduct casework with housing participants, including goal setting, education, personal financial planning, referral to BATP’s victim advocacy program, and other necessary services.
- Assist parents and children with healthy development.
- Inquire about and report all allegations of child or elder abuse to CPS or APS.
- Oversee program participant transportation needs, including reimbursement processes.
- Maintain knowledge of community resources.
- Provide structured activities for children while mothers attend non‑residential follow‑up services.
- Complete HUD‑regulated inspections as needed.
- Prepare and submit monthly purchase requests for rental and/or utility assistance.
- Partner with apartment managers and landlords to ensure safe, sanitary, and secure living arrangements.
- Conduct monthly landlord/leasing office calls to ensure continued occupancy and address tenant concerns proactively.
- Maintain accurate program participant records.
- Safeguard confidentiality during file maintenance and collaboration with partners.
- Provide on‑site emergency victim accompaniment from hospitals and police stations, including assessments and intake paperwork.
- Organize and prepare participant files and databases for internal and external monitoring.
- Resolve participant complaints via the grievance process.
- Serve as backup to the Housing Specialist.
- Ensure adherence to program guidelines and enforce them when not followed.
- Possess knowledge of grant objectives and goals.
- Prepare required reports.
- Continuously oversee program needs and make recommendations to the supervisor.
- Participate in agency fundraisers, community awareness, and speaking activities.
- Provide victim information and referrals to victim assistance/advocacy staff as appropriate.
- Work weekends and evenings as required.
- Attend staff meetings.
- Assist with answering the agency hotline.
- Assist with assessment services to victims.
- Serve as on‑call emergency accompaniment staff, responding within 45 minutes.
- Represent the agency in public presentations and professional training.
- Develop and procure program/service awareness activities, literature, and supplies; maintain playroom and distribution areas.
- Facilitate job readiness classes at shelter.
- Complete assigned chores on a quarterly rotation schedule.
- Record bi‑weekly timesheets and monthly mileage tracking.
- Carry out other duties as assigned.
- Oversee volunteers assigned to follow‑up services.
- Demonstrate leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills that empower residents to seek positive change.
- Make independent decisions benefiting program participants and the agency.
- Communicate program and participant needs to the supervisor.
- Assist in problem solving.
- Provide the supervisor with weekly notes reflecting progress, problems, and activities.
- Some college courses with related experience; 2‑year degree in a related field and 4 years’ experience.
- 4‑year degree in a related field with 2 years of experience, or a master’s degree in a related field and 1 year of experience.
- Exhibit a teamwork approach.
- Show sensitivity and knowledge regarding family violence and sexual assault, and the impact of these crimes on women and children.
