People expect technology to work together.
You make sure it does.
Behind every lighting scene, cinema experience, touchscreen interface and automated onboard environment lies a complex control system that brings different technologies together.
At VBH, you'll program the systems that make this possible.
As an AV Control Systems Programmer, you'll develop, configure and optimise control systems that connect audio, video, lighting, HVAC and other onboard technologies into one seamless experience. Using platforms such as Crestron, you'll turn technical requirements into intelligent programming and intuitive user interfaces.
Working alongside System Engineers, AV Specialists and other technical experts, you'll help bring complex designs to life through reliable, user-friendly control systems on some of the world's most advanced superyachts.
The reality
Working in the superyacht industry comes with high expectations.
Details matter. Reliability matters. The user experience matters.
Every line of code contributes to how people interact with the technology around them. A touchscreen should feel intuitive, lighting should respond exactly as intended, and different systems must communicate and operate together reliably.
No two projects are the same. One day, you'll be writing control logic or developing a custom user interface. The next, you'll be integrating multiple systems, debugging code or supporting commissioning on board.
It's a role for someone who enjoys solving programming challenges, understanding how different technologies interact and turning complex technical requirements into smart, practical solutions.
Your role
As an AV Control Systems Programmer, you'll take responsibility for programming and integrating the control systems that bring onboard technology together.
You'll develop control logic, create user interfaces and connect different technologies through the appropriate programming platforms and communication protocols. Working closely with System Engineers and other specialists, you'll translate technical designs into control solutions that are reliable, intuitive and tailored to each project.
From the initial programming through testing, debugging and commissioning, you'll play an important role in making sure every system performs as intended.
What you'll be doingProgramming and control systems
Develop, program and optimise control systems using Crestron platforms.
Write and maintain control logic using technologies such as SIMPL, SIMPL+ and SIMPL#.
Develop software components using C# and .NET where required.
Translate technical requirements into functional, reliable control solutions.
Integrate AV, lighting, HVAC and other onboard technologies into a cohesive control environment.
User interfaces and system integration
Create intuitive control experiences that make complex technology easy to use.
Integrate different systems and devices through APIs and communication protocols.
Work with technologies such as KNX, DALI, Lutron and Q-SYS, depending on project requirements.
Apply protocols such as REST API, Modbus, BACnet and TCP/IP to connect systems and enable communication between technologies.
Testing, troubleshooting and commissioning
Test and debug programming to ensure systems operate reliably.
Investigate integration issues and find practical, effective solutions.
Support system testing and commissioning, including resolving programming issues during project delivery.
Work closely with System Engineers, AV Specialists, IT Specialists and installation teams to ensure everything functions as intended.
Contribute ideas and improvements to make our programming and control solutions even…
