Performs proper operational procedures for sterilization of instrumentation and reusable med/surg supplies. Fills OR case carts and maintains OR supply inventory. Cleans, disinfects and maintains reusable patient care equipment for the nursing unit.
High school graduate or GED equivalent. Successful completion and current certification as Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) required. Certification must be completed within twelve (12) months of competency. Additional training in proper use and operation of hospital sterilization equipment preferred.
Three months to one year of Central Processing Technician experience using sterilization equipment and procedures for cleaning hospital instruments preferred
