Registered Nurse, Same Day Surgery

Provides care in the ambulatory setting directed towards meeting both the psycyhosocial and physical needs of the patient. This includes pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations. Assesses, plans, intervenes, and evaluates the outcome of interventions based on approved standard of care or standard of practice. Is a resource person and a teacher. Performs duties in a professional manner consistent with medical-surgical nursing practice, hospital policy and procedure and current regulations governing nursing practice in the state.

Communication on behalf of the patient reflects the mission, ethics and goals of the hospital.

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, current license as a registered nurse in the state of WV or appropriate Multi-State license; current certification in CPR; current certification in ACLS; BSN preferred. Knowledge of surgical and anesthesia procedures and routines desired.

One to three years nursing experience required; previous experience in ambulatory clinic or physician office preferred. Experience in surgical nursing preferred
