Job Description

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

• Cashier/Checker is responsible for being visible and actively greeting, engaging and assisting customers.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Understand the Point of Sale (POS) system, handle various tenders, and adhere to company policies.
• Follow cash handling limits and work to control loss.
• Adhere to guidelines on restricted sale items.
• Report pricing discrepancies.
• Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Comply with food safety regulations.
• Reinforce safety programs and identify unsafe conditions.
• Create a welcoming environment for customers.
• Adhere to all laws and company guidelines.
• Work effectively in a high-paced environment.
• Manage conflicts cooperatively.
• Act with honesty and integrity.
• Follow directions and seek assistance as needed.
• Support customers with special needs.
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications

Minimum Position Qualifications:

• Customer service experience
• Effective communication skills
• Basic math skills

Desired Previous Job Experience:

• Customer service experience
• Experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk
