Located in Greater Boston, Mass Bay is a comprehensive, open‑access community college, offering associate degrees and certificate programs on three campuses in Wellesley Hills, Framingham, and Ashland, Massachusetts.
The ideal candidate will join a vibrant educational community, and have a desire and ability to serve a population of students with various needs and backgrounds. This is a part‑time, student employment position with no benefits. The Financial Aid Office Assistant is responsible for the daily office duties of the suite and support the Administrative Assistant with clerical responsibilities. The candidate must be available to work Wednesday mornings.
Key Responsibilities and Duties- Answer and direct a high volume of incoming phone calls; greet walk‑in visitors and triage calls and messages to counselors or departments as necessary.
- Provide administrative support to staff; filing, mail sorting, alphabetizing documents, and creating electronic student files.
- Meet and greet students and visitors.
- Assist with open houses, orientations and financial aid workshops.
- Provide virtual support on a wide range of financial aid topics.
- Provide front desk coverage as needed.
- Responsible for conference room reservations and management of event space.
- Respond to voice messages and route to appropriate person.
- Ad hoc projects.
- Other duties assigned.

Required Qualifications- Consistent and reliable work habits.
- Problem‑solving skills.
- Federal work‑study eligible.
- Knowledge using Microsoft Office Suite—Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- A willingness to always learn new things.
- Ability to proofread with accuracy.
- No experience necessary.
- Sensitivity and commitment to the goals of affirmative action.
- Experience working in a community college or similar environment.
- Demonstrates commitment to working with students in need.
- High volume customer service experience.
Salary Range: $19 per hour
Classification: Student Employee
Hiring is contingent upon a successful CORI clearance.
