About The ProgramEXPLO Middle School is a 4‑week summer program for students in grades 6‑8. It includes two 2‑week sessions at Wellesley College. Students participate in EXPLO 360° or one of our Focus programs – Veterinary Science or Medical Rotations. Classes are taught by subject‑area experts and professional teachers. Advisors facilitate activities, events, and community experience.
The OpportunityAs an Instructor you engage with a dynamic, project‑based curriculum crafted by EXPLO’s curriculum development team, while infusing your teaching with your unique expertise, interests, and passions. You guide bright students through collaboration, critical thinking, and real‑world problem solving. You facilitate connections with guest speakers and inspire students to explore new areas of study and potential career paths.
Instructor Responsibilities- Implement an existing project‑based curriculum in collaboration with curriculum coaches, offering input based on your interests, research, or professional practice.
- Teach two or three 75‑minute classes each weekday.
- Complete the relevant daily preparation required for delivering an engaging student experience.
- Facilitate connections with external partners and guest speakers, as appropriate.
- Attend weekly faculty meetings and provide student feedback throughout the summer.

Dates, Compensation + Benefits- This is a 4.5‑week seasonal position. A 3‑day, on‑campus, in‑person training and orientation starts Wednesday, June 24, 2026. Pre‑season remote coaching is flexible and discussed in any offer.
- Compensation for a teaching load of two classes is $4,800, based on training and experience. Lunch is provided for all Instructors.
- Campus housing is limited; if needed, additional responsibilities will be discussed during hiring.
- You have earned at minimum a bachelor’s degree with coursework or professional experience directly related to the classes you will teach.
- You are available to work on campus for the program’s duration. Campus housing may be available on a limited basis for applicants not local to Boston/Wellesley.
- You are authorized to work in the United States, or can obtain authorization by the program’s start.
- Occasional assistance with physical tasks: carrying signage and supplies, event set‑up and tear‑down, standing or walking for prolonged periods during events. Pre‑arrival tasks include setting up indoor and outdoor spaces.
- The Wellesley College campus is large and spread out; days include significant walking.
