Robotics Education Specialist (After-School Programs)

Robotfun Academy provides VEX and LEGO Robotics after-school programs, camps, and robotics competitions for students from 1st to 12th grade. Located near Newton and Wellesley, our mission is to spark a lifelong passion for STEM. We empower students to excel academically while fostering crucial life skills including communication, collaboration, and time management. Robotfun Academy creates a fun and engaging environment where students can learn, create, and innovate with robotics.

Role Description

This is a part-time on-site role for a Robotics After-School Teacher Specialist, located in Wellesley, MA. The individual will be responsible for managing and teaching robotics classes and workshops, creating lesson plans, and engaging students in hands‑on STEM activities. The role includes coordinating robotics competitions, fostering students' technical skills, and encouraging collaboration and creativity. As part of the role, you will work closely with students of various ages to make robotics learning fun and impactful.

Qualifications

  • Experience in lesson planning and implementing structured educational programs
  • Ability to improve and create new teaching content individually, with a passion for working with students of varying age groups
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively convey ideas and foster student engagement
  • Skills in training and guiding students in STEM and robotics‑related activities
  • Flexibility to adapt to diverse learning styles and educational needs
  • Bachelor's degree completed or in progress in Education, Engineering, STEM fields, or a related area
  • Experience with teaching 3D Printing, Laser Cutting, C++ Programming, Blocks Coding, Python is a plus
  • Familiarity with VEX or LEGO robotics is highly preferred
  • Previous experience working with children in a classroom, camp, or similar environment is a plus
