Position: Assistant Director for Alumnae Engagement (Volunteers and Young Alum/Student Engagement)
A key member of the Alumnae Engagement team, this role has a focus on alumnae volunteers, recent graduates, and student engagement on campus and  collaboration with other alumnae engagement team members and campus partners, the AD will develop programming “toolkits” and connection strategies for our global network of 140+ regional alumnae Clubs, Shared Identity Groups (SIGs), and Classes, and will work with these groups to proactively identify and amplify alumnae engagement opportunities, with a focus on the young alumnae constituency--including the College’s 150th anniversary this year.

The AD will be responsible for leading on-campus efforts to engage with students and introduce them to the alumnae community and traditions through programs with campus partners, including Stepsinging, Hoop Rolling, the Alumnae Achievement Awards, and Reunion. This strategic cultivation will lead to welcoming recent graduates as the College’s newest alumnae through early engagement and connection, to help build the pipeline for long-term loyalty and philanthropy while deepening the sense of community amongst the young alum cohort following the COVID-19 pandemic.

For the annual Wellesley Reunion weekend for 2,300+ alumnae and guests, the AD will leverage their student engagement work and relationships with campus partners to serve as the lead for the 100+ student workers supporting Reunion weekend, including recruitment, hiring, training, and management of those workers (recruitment/hiring begins early in the spring semester). The role has three main areas of focus: alumnae volunteer engagement and strategic programming (including 150th celebrations), recent alumnae engagement, and student engagement.

Engage with recent graduates through their transition from students to alumnae and provide programming toolkits and support for alumnae Clubs and SIGs to integrate young alumnae interests into events. Integrate recent graduates into the alumnae network, provide resources and information they will find welcome and useful.

Plan and execute student engagement programming in collaboration with campus partners (Student Life, Admission, Development, Parent’s Office, Deans, ORSL), with the goal of familiarizing students with the lifelong opportunities and commitments they can embrace as members of the Wellesley alumnae community. Execute programs including True Blue To Do;
Stepsinging;
Hooprolling; senior celebrations; and more.

• Volunteer Support:
Respond to a large volume of incoming requests via phone, email, zoom, and forms for guidance from WCAA’s 1,000+ volunteers regarding topics including programming, young alumnae engagement, and coordination with campus partners on student engagement opportunities.

• Reunion Student Workers:
Recruit, train, and manage 100+ Reunion student staff, working closely with Class Deans and other campus stakeholders throughout the hiring and training process.

• In-person event support:
Assist the WCAA team at in-person events including Reunion, Family and Friends Weekend (especially Alumnae Achievement Awards), True Blue To Do initiatives (Stepsinging, Hoop Rolling, Lake Day, etc) and other in-person and virtual event assistance as required.
