EXPLO Middle School Student Advisor (Summer)

Join a 4.5‑week residential summer program at Wellesley College designed for students in grades 6‑8. As an Advisor, you will provide mentorship, support, and supervise students during academic and enrichment activities.

Student Advisor Responsibilities
  • Work with a co‑Advisor to supervise, care for, and advise a group of residential or day students.
  • Provide a healthy, safe, and engaging living environment; most Advisors will remain on‑call in the dorm every other night, while some will oversee commuting students.
  • Assist Instructors in the classroom as needed.
  • Chaperone students on weekend trips throughout the Boston area and other class trips.
  • Take charge of a specific program support role (e.g., coordinating activities, managing supplies, designing a daily newsletter, planning trips, or teaching an elective), help run afternoon activities and evening events, and assist with other program tasks.
Dates, Compensation & Benefits
  • 4.5‑week residential seasonal position; on‑campus orientation starts Wednesday, June 24, 2026.
  • Virtual training completed prior to the summer; details discussed during hiring.
  • Base compensation $4,000; additional stipend for Advisors who teach electives.
  • Room and board provided for the duration of the program.
About You
  • Completed at least one year of college or equivalent post‑secondary experience.
  • Able to live and work on campus for the duration of the program.
  • Authorized to work in the United States, or able to obtain authorization by program start.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
  • Occasional physical tasks such as carrying signage, event set‑up and tear‑down, and standing or walking for prolonged periods.
  • Large campus requiring significant walking; weekend trips may include walking tours.
