Mass Bay is a comprehensive, open‑access community college offering associate degrees and certificate programs on three campuses in Greater Boston.
Position Summary: The ideal candidate will join a vibrant educational community and serve a diverse student population. The candidate is expected to commit to excellence in teaching, learning, collaboration, and professional development. Adjunct faculty will deliver learner‑centered course materials, engage students actively, communicate consistently, manage timely grading, provide substantial feedback, submit clinical evaluations, and maintain attendance and grade records.
Mass Bay seeks qualified part‑time instructors for the current and future semesters to teach courses in Human Services, including but not limited to Social Welfare, Behavioral Health, Psychology, Sociology, Substance Abuse, and Direct Support. Candidates should hold a master’s degree in a related discipline and have obtained appropriate certification and/or licensure where applicable.
Key Responsibilities and Duties- Collaborate with faculty to prepare syllabi and develop curricula aligned with the College’s vision.
- Meet students regularly and teach assigned courses using effective instructional strategies that promote student learning.
- Use assessment methods consistently to measure student understanding in line with accreditation and College standards.
- Engage in professional development activities to learn current educational practices.
- Utilize the College’s learning management system as needed.
- Maintain excellent communication with students, department, and division staff throughout the semester.
- Submit syllabi, midterm and final grade reports, attendance records, and other reports by required due dates.
- Carry out related duties as assigned by the College in accordance with policies and the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Use technology effectively to communicate and enhance classroom learning.
- Participate in department and divisional assessment activities, including providing artifacts for annual assessment.
- Master’s degree in a related field.
- Teaching/training experience.

- Experience with advising, coaching, teaching, advocacy, financial aid, outreach, and mentoring.

- Knowledge of higher education recruitment, orientation, access, transition, and success.
Equivalency Statement: Applicants who do not meet the qualifications can provide written evidence of equivalent education, training, and experience.
Salary Range: $1,397.00 – $1,585.00 DCE per credit
