Assistant Superintendent / Highway DivisionThe Town of Wellesley Department of Public Works is seeking an Assistant Superintendent for the Highway Division to support the maintenance and operation of Town roads, sidewalks, drainage systems, resurfacing programs, and winter maintenance operations to ensure safe, reliable, and sustainable infrastructure for the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in leading and developing an experienced, well-trained crew
- Act as technical advisor in developing policies and programs for roadway maintenance and snow and ice control
- Assist with budgeting, project planning, and oversight of maintenance and construction projects
- Coordinate work with DPW divisions, municipal departments, utilities, and contractors
- Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and Town regulations
- Act on behalf of the Superintendent as needed
- Respond to emergencies and serve on-call as required
Requirements:
- Associate’s degree in civil engineering with three years of relevant experience, or five years of equivalent education and experience
- Knowledge of highway construction, maintenance, and drainage systems
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Knowledge of GIS preferred
- Valid Massachusetts Class D driver’s license
$95,683 to $129,172, depending on qualifications, with excellent municipal benefits.
