Job Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a full‑time Supply Planner to join Booker on a 6‑month fixed‑term contract, based out of either Hemel Hempstead or Wellingborough. You will take responsibility for achieving and maximising company product availability targets through careful planning and working closely with internal and external stakeholders.
Commitment: 38 hours a week, Monday to Friday; office 2–3 days a week.
Location: Hemel Hempstead – Maxted Road, HP2 7DX

- Optimise service levels to customers within the business unit and the supply chain as a whole.
- Manage a portfolio of suppliers and product categories.
- Achieve stock‑holding and wastage budgets for your product category and ensure appropriate actions are taken without impacting supply.
- Daily review for stock shortages and contacting suppliers.
- Ensure key issues are communicated to internal stakeholders and support resolution.
- Forecasting, tracking promotions and product allocations.
- Support seasonal events and activities.
- Work in partnership with internal stakeholder teams to ensure trading activities are identified and complement supply‑chain goals.
- Develop relationships with suppliers and consolidators/hauliers to optimise inbound supply service levels and supplier constraints.
- Excellent communication with negotiation and influence at all levels for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent organisation and time‑management skills, able to prioritise and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong customer‑service orientation, good analytical skills, basic or intermediate Excel knowledge.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Pro‑active initiative and problem‑solving mindset.
- Previous procurement or supply‑chain/retail experience preferred; supply‑chain ordering systems and sales forecasting experience desirable; full training will be provided.
- GCSE or equivalent Maths and English grade C or above.
- Desirable: suitable supply‑chain professional qualification or interest in studying for one, or university degree.
