Maintenance Engineer

Salary: £53,000 – £56,000 + Overtime available at 1.5x

Hours:

4 on 4 off (2 days 6:00‑18:00 / 2 nights 18:00‑6:00) – 18 days off after every 7th rotation

Responsibilities
  • Attend breakdowns on site machinery and conveyor systems
  • Carry out PPMs and reactive breakdowns and maintenance in a timely manner to minimise machinery downtime
  • Liaise with engineering management and fellow engineers to resolve breakdowns efficiently, professionally and in a timely manner
  • Follow health and safety procedures
  • Attend training and courses for further development, in line with training schedules
  • Work with other engineers on the team to maintain and repair plant machinery
Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a maintenance engineer in a packaging, manufacturing, FMCG or similar industry (essential)
  • A good balance of mechanical and electrical fault finding and repairs with an electrical bias preferred (essential)
  • Previous experience repairing and fault finding on components such as motors, gearboxes, conveyor systems, converters, inverters or PLCs (essential)
  • Apprentice trained with a minimum NVQ level 3 qualification within electrical or mechanical engineering (advantageous)
  • Understanding of automated processes (advantageous)
  • An openness to learn, share practices and attend training courses when needed (advantageous)
  • Full UK driver’s license
