Finance isn't just about numbers – it's about making the operation perform.We're looking for a commercially minded Finance Officer who enjoys working closely with operational teams, understanding how the business works and using financial insight to drive better decisions.
This isn't a role where you'll spend every day hidden away in the finance office. You'll work alongside warehouse and logistics leaders, helping them understand costs, improve efficiencies and keep the operation commercially focused.

The RoleReporting to the Head of Warehousing & Logistics, you'll support the financial management of a busy warehouse and logistics operation.
You'll be responsible for ensuring financial information is accurate, costs are controlled and managers have the information they need to make informed decisions. From monitoring labour and transport spend to supporting budgets, reporting and month-end activities, you'll become a key part of the operational leadership team.
This is a varied role where no two days are the same, offering plenty of opportunity to get involved, influence change and develop your career.
What You'll Be Doing- Processing purchase invoices, supplier payments and expense claims accurately and on time.
- Reconciling supplier statements, transport invoices and warehouse-related costs.
- Supporting accounts payable, accounts receivable and month-end processes.
- Monitoring labour costs, agency spend, transport costs and warehouse overheads.
- Producing weekly and monthly financial and operational reports.
- Analysing financial performance and highlighting trends or areas for improvement.
- Assisting with forecasting, budgeting and variance analysis.
- Working closely with Warehouse Managers and operational teams to provide financial support and guidance.
- Supporting audits and ensuring financial controls are maintained.
- Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting.
You're more than an accounts professional.
You're naturally curious, commercially aware and enjoy understanding how finance impacts the wider business. You can confidently explain financial information to non-finance colleagues and build strong relationships across the operation.
You'll probably have:
- Previous experience in a Finance Officer, Finance Assistant or similar finance role.
- Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, Lookups and data analysis.
- Experience using accounting or ERP systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong numerical skills.
- A proactive approach with the confidence to challenge and improve existing processes.
- The ability to prioritise workloads in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.
Experience with in warehousing, logistics, manufacturing or supply chain would be highly advantageous, although we're equally interested in candidates with the right attitude who are keen to learn.
