Depot Operative

Wellingborough

About the Role

Our new Wellingborough facility is a £20 million investment in the Midlands. Here, we recycle Incinerator Bottom Ash (IBA) from energy recovery plants and turn it into Ecoblend®, a range of sustainable aggregates used in construction. By recycling waste that would otherwise go to landfill, we help protect natural resources and promote responsible construction.

As a Depot Operative, you’ll play a key role in keeping the site running smoothly.

Package

Annual salary plus the 9% non-contributory pension with Scottish Widows. You may be entitled to the discretionary Annual and Christmas bonuses. Annual leave of 25 days per year, plus 8 Bank Holidays.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate within the Depot’s processing plants
  • Provide support to other Depot Operatives as needed to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
  • Maintain a clean and orderly site, taking shared responsibility for health, safety, and housekeeping
Person Specification
  • Positive, can-do attitude with a strong work ethic and willingness to get stuck in
  • Ability to communicate clearly and work as part of a team in a busy environment
  • A flexible and responsible approach to work, with a keen eye for safety and detail
  • Physically fit and happy to work in an active role
  • Experience of operating mobile plant is advantageous but not essential (training will be provided for the right candidate).

This role is based on-site at Ogee Business Park in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire. You’ll need to live within a reasonable commuting distance, and because of the location, having your own transport is recommended.

45 hours per week, Monday to Friday 0700 – 1700, including 1 hour unpaid break.
