About the Role

Working with Northamptonshire's Children’s Trust, we are seeking a committed and proactive Family Support Worker (FSW) to work alongside Social Workers in delivering practical, relationship-based support to children and families.

This role is vital in helping families make positive and sustainable changes by providing hands-on support in the community and contributing to effective multi-agency working. While the role offers flexible hybrid working, you must be available to attend the office on designated days and to provide in-person support when required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct work with parents and families, offering practical and emotional support
  • Deliver parenting support, including guidance around routines, boundaries, and family dynamics
  • Support families with budgeting and practical life skills
  • Work with families experiencing domestic abuse and promote healthy relationships
  • Support duty functions and supervised family time where required
  • Attend meetings, reviews, and multi-agency forums to contribute to care planning
  • Work closely with Social Workers to support assessments and interventions
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and professional case records
  • Work flexibly to meet service needs, including attending the office on set days
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience working with children, families, or vulnerable adults
  • Confidence delivering direct work with parents and carers
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, domestic abuse, and family support interventions
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Strong communication, organisational, and record-keeping skills
  • Comfortable working flexibly across office, home, and community settings
  • Drivers with access to own vehicle
