Teacher Active is proud to be working with various Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) provisions in Telford, supporting with their recruitment for a Social, Emotional and Mental Health Learning Support Assistant / SEMH LSA. The setting is centred on pupil s development, as well as an intrinsic desire to make progress both academically and with their own emotional, social and behavioural skills.

The school is seeking a passionate team player to take on this short-term role, although there is potential for this to become a long-term placement for the right a Social, Emotional and Mental Health Learning Support Assistant / SEMH LSA. The successful SEMH Learning Support Assistant / SEMH LSA will bring a new dimension and skill set to this role, be keen to develop their own skills to adapt to the children s individual needs and have a positive impact on the wider school.

The position will involve working with students across all Key Stages with diagnosis of Autism / ASD, Social, Emotional and Mental Health / SEMH, and challenging behaviours. A proactive thinker with the ability to take control of situations confidently is necessary.

The successful SEND Learning Support Assistant / SEND LSA will have:

Experience working with children with additional needs / disabilities

Experience working with students with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) and challenging behaviours

Relevant Teaching Assistant qualifications

Team-Teach or MAPA qualifications desirable
