Job Description:

This is ideally a 12-month assignment and the applicant must be able to attend Telford 2 days a week minimum. For Contractors - we would be looking at 6 months initially:
Fantastic opportunity for an experienced, delivery savvy, senior Scrum Master to join a two-year project to modernise one of the clients largest and most critical services (COTAX = Corporation Tax) in Tax Admin, on the clients

The Scrum Master will work closely with:
Delivery Leads, PM, Architects, Business Analysts, QA Leads, Lead Engineers and their whole scrum teams.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies across two scrum teams including:
  • Scrums
  • Sprint planning
  • Backlog Refinement
  • Reviews and Retrospectives
  • Actively drive cross-team learning, knowledge sharing and best practice
  • Ensure effective and consistent use of Jira and Confluence across teams, considering all stakeholder needs
  • Work hand in hand with the Delivery Lead to understand, track and communicate progress and issues
  • Protect teams from distractions and foster a high-performing, motivated environment
  • Drive pace and urgency to meet delivery milestones
  • Drive a culture that embraces change to ways of working e.g. development and interception of AI solutions
  • Embed a culture of ownership and accountability, in relation to delivering against commitments.

We are looking for :

  • Proven experience as a Scrum Master
  • Strong facilitation and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams on complex projects and / or programmes
  • Extensive experience with agile tooling e.g. JIRA and Confluence including for progress reporting
  • Experience of scrum mastering in new teams, building from the ground up, as well as in mature teams
