Overview
Wellington Collegiate Academy (WCA) is searching for an energetic, experienced, and mission-aligned Homeroom Teacher to guide our upper-elementary learners (Grades 3-5) through a rich year of discovery in all four core subjects. You will craft engaging, standards-based lessons, nurture critical-thinking skills, and champion each child’s academic and personal growth within a welcoming, faith-affirming community.
Key Responsibilities- Student Information Management – Maintain accurate records in FACTS, the school’s Student Information System.
- Curriculum & Instruction – Design and deliver cohesive units that meet state standards and reflect best practices in ELA, math, science, and history.
- Learning Materials – Prepare and organize texts, manipulatives, lab supplies, and digital resources.
- Assessment & Feedback – Assign homework, grade student work promptly, and provide constructive feedback; track progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Classroom Culture – Foster a safe, inclusive, and joyful environment that encourages inquiry and respectful dialogue.
- Collaboration – Partner with colleagues, support staff, and families to create a healthy, supportive learning ecosystem.
- Attendance & Documentation – Take daily attendance, document academic growth, and record behavioral incidents in line with school policies.
- Bachelor’s degree (education or related field); state teaching certificate preferred.
- Prior K-12 teaching experience, ideally in multiple subjects.
- Deep understanding of child development, classroom management, and differentiated instruction.
- Commitment to kindness, patience, and the gentle guidance of developing minds.
- Team-oriented mindset with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with health, safety, and sanitation protocols for elementary settings.
