This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) announcement for two (2) Supervisory Civil Engineers (Resident Engineer), GS-0810-13, in the South Atlantic Division, Jacksonville District, Construction Division, Everglades Agricultural Area (EAA) Reservoir Resident Office.

Duties:
The incumbent serves under the general direction of the EAA Reservoir Resident Office Sr Resident Engineer. The typical duties will involve:

  • Responsible for leading and managing an inclusive, diverse workforce in a manner that leverages the talents of each employee.
  • Work closely with higher-level supervisor to ensure that the Resident's office goals support overall District, Division, and Area Office policy and strategic goals.
  • Serve as the responsible professional for all work done in the Resident Office.
  • Perform personnel management functions to guide, direct, and evaluate the technical efforts and work products produced by subordinates.
  • Utilize a highly developed knowledge of professional engineering theories and principles of sound construction management.
  • Identify and analyze employee relations, issues, and problems and take corrective action, as needed.
  • Develop strategies to use new technology to enhance productivity and quality of business decisions and to assess the impact of these technological changes within the organization.

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD, Section 9905 to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Minimum Education Requirement:
Bachelor's degree (or higher) in engineering. The program must: lead to a degree in a school with at least one program accredited by ABET. Degree must be documented on a transcript.
