Registrar – Wellington Regional Medical Center

This is a full-time position (24 hours per week) with a convenient schedule of 3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m., including weekends. Responsibilities
  • Greets, collects and processes all incoming patients to gather necessary demographic information in accordance with hospital policies and regulations.
  • Procures reimbursement verification from third parties and maintains accurate patient records.
  • Expands to other areas or departments as needed (cross‑training).
  • Recognizes signs and symptoms of stroke, initiates a stroke alert, and verbalizes the stroke alert process.
  • Assigns temporary patient identification in the ED, completes full registration upon patient arrival, and maintains currency in stroke knowledge by completing the annual one‑hour online training.
Qualifications
  • High School or GED diploma preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in an acute care facility or related environment preferred.
  • Willingness to be cross‑trained in other areas (admitting, business office, ER).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail oriented and organized.
  • Basic medical terminology knowledge.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Filing, typing, and familiarity with HMO/PPO contracts preferred.
