We are seeking an experienced Senior
Data Technician to join our team at Advanced Communications (previously known as Cablenet) in Wellington.

In this role, you will play a vital part in installing and maintaining telecommunications and data systems, including cabinet terminations, data infrastructure, and access control systems. Your expertise will ensure that all installations are secure, efficient, and compliant with health and safety standards.
This role is a minimum of 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Installation of copper and fibre data cabling, cabling pathways, network hardware and data infrastructure including security and CCTV.
- Work across various protocols, including telecommunications, AV, computer networks, CCTV, access control and security systems.
- Accurately read and interpret technical drawings and specifications to understand optimal equipment placement and connections.
- Installation of data cabling and hardware, ensuring all work adheres to ASNZ standards.
- Be available to travel for out-of-town assignments during peak periods or national rollouts as needed.
- Take on additional duties as required, including working outside standard hours when necessary.
- Always ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety protocols.
- Proven experience with cabling for structured cabling, CCTV, and security systems
- Familiarity with ASNZS standards for commercial premise cabling and pathways is highly desirable.
- Solid experience and knowledge in general data systems and telecommunications.
- Strong understanding of structured cabling solutions, including Certified UTP Cabling and Fibre Optic Cabling.
- Experience with Fluke cable testing and fault resolution
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Confidence in managing and completing customer projects efficiently and within deadlines.
