ResponsibilitiesThe Plumber assumes responsibility and accountability for hospital plumbing, mechanical, and electrical equipment. The Plumber performs preventative maintenance and needed repairs or upgrades on all hospital mechanical equipment in accordance with national and local codes, facility guidelines and manufacturers’ recommendations. Assures that all equipment operates within the established limits set by the manufacturers of the equipment. Must be willing to cross-train and assist in other trade areas to meet the needs of the facility.
The Plumber is directly accountable to the Director of Plant Operations and is also under the direction of the Administrative Supervisor for a given work shift or time period in the absence of the manager. May be exposed to various electrical and mechanical construction equipment, inclement weather, fumes, dust, gases and odors in the course of work responsibilities. Possible exposure to biological hazards.

Two-three (2-3) years’ experience in building maintenance preferable in a Health Care Facility. Mechanical, Plumbing, Boiler, Electrical, Carpentry, Painting, Drywall installation/ finishing and locksmith experience. Must have experience with steam boilers, boilers and knowledge of water testing.
