Cnc Programmer

CNC MACHINIST

Due to increased demand, my client is seeking a CNC Machinist with strong manual machining and mechanical fitting experience.

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing precision components, carrying out fitting and repair work, and supporting workshop operations.

Experience with CNC and XYZ machines is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided. Welding and general engineering experience would be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

* Interpret drawings, samples and job specifications

* Plan and carry out machining operations

* Operate manual lathes, milling machines, pillar drills and CNC equipment

* Set up machines, select tooling, and monitor machining processes

* Inspect finished components using measuring equipment (callipers, micrometres, verniers)

* Work with ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics and copper

* Repair shafts and journals

* Perform routine machine maintenance

* Maintain accurate job records

* Follow health & safety procedures and maintain a clean workspace

* Work independently or as part of a team

* Support batch and one-off production work

* Participate in overtime and call-out rota as required

About You

* Proven experience as a machinist

* Program, write, and edit CNC programs independently

* Read and produce engineering drawings

* Operate semi-manual and fully manual lathes

* Carry out milling and turning operations

* Diagnose and repair a range of rotating mechanical components through machining processes

* Strong manual machining and fitting skills

* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings

* Experience with welding and balancing (advantageous)

* Competent with precision measuring tools
