LEAD SALES ASSOCIATE-PT - 21 and older only - Wells, ME S17864

Dollar General is seeking a Lead Sales Associate (Part-Time) in Wells, ME. This role functions as a Cashier and/or Stocker and acts in a lead capacity in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager. Responsibilities include assisting in set up and maintenance of plan-o-grams, providing exemplary customer service, and supporting profitability, customer satisfaction, and teamwork while protecting company assets and reducing losses.

Responsibilities
  • Unload trucks and process merchandise according to store procedures.
  • Receive, open, and unpack cartons and totes; stock, rotate, and face merchandise; build merchandise displays; restock returned and recovered items.
  • Order zones and drop shipment categories as directed by the Store Manager.
  • Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance; assist customers in locating merchandise.
  • Greet customers; maintain register area, operate cash register and scanner, total purchases, bag merchandise, and collect payment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized store environment; assist with sidewalk displays and safety rules.
  • Provide superior customer service leadership; follow company policies and procedures as outlined in SOPs, Employee Handbook, and communications.
  • Open and/or close the store under the direction of the Area Manager.
In the Absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager
  • Authorize and sign for refunds and overrides; count register and make bank deposits.
  • Maintain cashier accountability, key control, and cash security practices.
  • Monitor cash levels and perform drawer pulls; monitor cameras for unusual activities (where applicable).
  • Provide cashiers with change as needed and complete required paperwork according to guidelines and deadlines.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of cash handling procedures, cashier accountability, and deposit controls; ability to perform IBM cash register functions.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations and read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
  • Effective interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills; understanding of safety policies and practices.
  • High school diploma or equivalent and six months of supervisory experience (or related experience/training) preferred.

Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
