Shaw Healthcare is looking for a Maintenance Person to join the team at Llwyn Teg. The role involves maintaining our Home and grounds, ensuring safety and working order.

• Ensure the exterior of our building and grounds are maintained to a safe and good standard.
• Coordinate and control all building works and refurbishments with minimum disturbance to residents and staff.
• Carry out routine monitoring and repairs on all systems and liaise with the Home Manager for specialist repairs.
• Ensure regular tests and checks are completed and recorded, including boiler function checks, fire alarm activation, water services and temperature tests.
• Advise the Home Manager on potential maintenance problems such as heating, refrigeration, electrics, gas, and faulty equipment.
• Comply with all aspects of Health & Safety at Work Act (e.g. COSHH) and record all health and safety checks.
• Ensure safety and cleanliness meet Environmental Health, Fire and Safety at Work regulations.
• Maintain and store tools and equipment safely.
• Act as first point of call for staff when repairs are required and assist with staff induction, including emergency procedures.
• Give advice over the telephone and be prepared to be called out in emergencies when off duty.
• Assist with driving the Home’s minibus or similar vehicles for residents’ outings as requested by the Home Manager.
