SHAW HEALTHCARE is seeking a Maintenance Person to join the team at Llys Hafren. The role focuses on maintaining the care home and grounds, ensuring safety and compliance, and supporting residents and staff.

• Maintain the exterior of the building and grounds to a safe and good standard.
• Coordinate and control building works and refurbishments with minimum disturbance to residents and staff.
• Carry out routine monitoring and repairs on all systems, liaising with the Home Manager for specialist repairs.
• Ensure regular tests and checks (boiler function checks, fire alarm activation, water services and temperature tests) are carried out and recorded.
• Advise the Home Manager on potential maintenance problems (heating systems, refrigeration, electrics, gas and faulty equipment).
• Comply with the Health & Safety at Work Act (COSHH) and record all safety checks.
• Ensure safety and cleanliness within the care home and grounds meet Environmental Health, Fire and Safety at Work regulations.
• Maintain and store tools and equipment safely.
• Be the first point of call for staff when repairs are required, assisting with staff induction (emergency exits, fire points and evacuation procedures).
• Provide advice over the phone and be prepared for emergencies when off duty.
• Assist with driving the Home’s minibus or similar vehicles for residents’ outings as requested.
• Complete the provided training, including a leadership programme that supports development and progression within SHAW.
