About the Role
We are delighted to be recruiting for an Accounts Payable Officer in Welwyn Garden City on a permanent basis.
Responsibilities- Liaise with suppliers regarding queries concerning invoices and debit balances and assist where possible in securing relevant information to resolve queries promptly and enable payment.
- Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.
- Monitor and identify suppliers who require payment in accordance with agreed terms and conditions.
- Accurately record and process transactions to facilitate efficient reconciliation of all supplier accounts.
- Analyse purchase order quantities and prices to ensure invoices can be processed correctly.
- Process supplier statements, payment runs and bank transfers.
- Process overseas transfer reconciliation, supplier statement reconciliation, company credit card and company expenses VAT and receipts.
- Perform routine and general administrative functions such as filing, photocopying, emailing and general maintenance of records related to the accounts ledger function.
- Conduct month‑end supplier reconciliations and reporting.
- Assist with month‑end VAT and import duty reconciliations.
- Assist with year‑end audit requests.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Preferred working knowledge of SAP.
- Sound numeracy and literacy skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team‑oriented environment and independently.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Methodical, organised and attentive to detail.
- Salary of £32,000 plus a company performance bonus subject to results.
- Parking and life assurance: twice the annual salary after passing probation (6 months).
- Annual leave of 20 days, increasing by 1 day each year of service up to a maximum of 25 days, plus bank holidays.
- After 12 months of service: 3 wellness days per year to support mental health and wellbeing.

Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm with a 30‑minute unpaid lunch.
