Project Manager

This leading contractor are seeking a Project Manager to oversee a new residential and commercial development in the centre of Hertfordshire. Consisting of over 70 apartments as well as a number of commercial units you will be the No1 project lead for this high profile construction project and lead the site team throughout the full lifecycle of the development.

Key Responsibilities

* Take full ownership of construction projects from contract award through to completion. Set up project documentation and lead pre‑start meetings.

* Review drawings, contracts and specifications, and develop project programmes and method statements.

* Act as primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.

* Provide regular progress updates and manage expectations.

* Liaise with architects, engineers, building control and other stakeholders.

* Oversee subcontractor performance, scheduling, compliance and quality.

* Manage material procurement and supplier relationships.

* Oversee day‑to‑day site activities to ensure progress, safety and quality.

* Conduct site inspections, resolve issues promptly, and maintain professional site standards.

* Maintain and update construction programmes, sequencing works and mitigating delays.

* Track progress on a day to day basis

* Keep accurate records including site diaries, meeting minutes, RFIs, variations and progress reports.

* Prepare handover packs, O&M manuals and safety files.

* Ensure all works meet drawings, specifications and Building Regulations.

* Manage snagging, inspections and statutory sign‑offs.

Experience wanted

* A minimum of 3 years experience as a number 1 on similar residential construction projects

* Proven track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget

* SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) qualification and Black or Gold CSCS card

* Previous experience of working on projects with RC frame structure

* Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and Building Regulations

* Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications

* Work history of having worked for at least 1 other established main contractor and developer.
