- Salary: £20.06 per week (basic pay + HCAS + 12.07% holiday pay; hourly grade Band 6)

To work within professional standards and clinical guidelines, promoting best practice and undertaking all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner, including assessing and treating own caseload of patients/clients and maintaining professional documentation.
Build and maintain key relationships with referrers such as GPs, acute providers, bedded services, district nurses, wheelchair services and other CLCH services to facilitate appropriate referrals.
Supervise rehabilitation assistants and speech and language therapy students.
Provide patient care primarily in homes but also in clinics, residential care homes, continuing care homes and community centres, delivering individual and group therapy interventions.
Support personal and professional development through participation in continuing professional development (CPD), audits, and research.

Job Description And Main Responsibilities
- Undertake multidisciplinary neurological assessments and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team on joint goals.
- Analyse auditory, visual and kinaesthetic aspects of clients’ communication and identify strategies to enhance communication effectiveness in home, work and other settings.
- Carry out specialist neuro‑physical examinations of the orofacial process, including the mechanism of eating and swallowing.
- Monitor interaction of significant others with clients, focusing on auditory, visual and kinaesthetic aspects of dyadic interactions to maximise effective communication.
- Make appropriate clinical decisions using evidence‑based practice and outcome measurement, developing clear care plans and SMART goals agreed with clients and families.
- Communicate assessment, treatment and discharge information to clients, carers and families, especially for complex conditions.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills and advanced communication techniques to support patients with varied communication difficulties (e.g., aphasia).
- Motivate and facilitate informed consent, ensuring cooperation for treatment even when barriers to understanding exist.
- Manage conflict verbally and in writing across a variety of situations.
- Co‑operate with the multi‑professional team to run therapy groups as needed.
- Develop, update and present speech‑language therapy–specific patient and carer education presentations.
