This role is based in the Real-World & Clinical Data Strategy (RWCDS) team which drives data excellence and analytics to power enhanced decision‑making and evidence‑generation within Roche Product Development.

The

Opportunity
  • You support the creation and maintenance of data dictionaries, metadata definitions, and lineage documentation for priority data sources
  • You assist in routine data quality assessments and support the classification and cataloging of structured and unstructured datasets
  • You work within existing stewardship procedures and tools to support transparency, traceability, and reusability of development data
  • You build subject matter expertise in data stewardship practices for real‑world, clinical, and operational data across Roche’s development landscape
  • You collaborate with senior team members to ensure consistent documentation and alignment with data standards
  • You contribute to knowledge‑sharing activities and informal guidance for team members new to data stewardship practices
  • You ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations such as HIPAA, GDPR, and other relevant standards
  • You contribute to a culture of data stewardship by following data governance principles and best practices
Who you are
  • You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Bioinformatics, Life Sciences, Information Science, Information Management, or a related discipline
  • You have solid experience working in a data documentation, quality, or metadata‑related role, or an advanced degree with equivalent work experience
  • You understand clinical or real‑world data structures and foundational stewardship practices
  • You have basic experience with documentation tools, spreadsheets, or version control systems
  • You demonstrate capacity for independent thinking and ability to make decisions based upon sound principles
  • You bring excellent strategic agility including problem‑solving and critical thinking skills, and agility that extends beyond the technical domain
  • You demonstrate respect for cultural differences when interacting with colleagues in the global workplace
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills, specifically in the areas of presentation and writing, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in clear language
Preferred
  • Experience in healthcare data governance and exposure to data catalogs or classification systems
  • Willingness to learn about regulatory documentation requirements and FAIR data principles
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high‑quality metadata and process consistency
