Position: Specialist Children and Young People Support Worker

22 Victim Services provide tailored support to individuals to empower them to cope and recover from the impact of crime.

Where you fit in:
As the Specialist Children and Young People support worker, you will deliver a specialist enhanced service to young victims of crime. You will build and sustain high-quality relationships with young victims through an offer of support that wins confidence and trust. You will support other team members to develop their skills and knowledge to support children and young people through coaching and working on cases together.

You will work collaboratively with a wide range of agencies to ensure that there is a robust referral pathway in place. You will be a passionate and experienced support worker who shows an understanding and commitment to the needs of victims and witnesses and how the Victim Service can effectively address the needs.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver a specialist enhanced service to young victims of crime.
  • Build and sustain high-quality relationships with young victims, gaining confidence and trust.
  • Support other team members to develop their skills and knowledge through coaching and collaborative casework.
  • Collaborate with a wide range of agencies to maintain a robust referral pathway.
  • Work with a commitment to the needs of victims and witnesses and how the Victim Service can address those needs.

  • Responsive to pressure and change; flexible and adaptable to sustain performance.
  • Ability to build and manage relationships, share knowledge and skills to deliver shared goals.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across Catch
    22 to utilise skills and experience.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence key stakeholders and maintain confidentiality.
Organisational Relationships
  • Reports to Team Leader.
  • Liaises with Directors, Assistant Directors, Service Managers, Employees, Volunteers, Commissioners, and other local stakeholder representatives.
Additional Information

    : £27,580 per annum

    :
    Full time, 37.5 hours per week

    Flexible working options available, blended office/home/community visits across Hertfordshire where service delivery allows.

Screening and Vetting:
Successful admission is subject to enhanced DBS check, police vetting, and employer Right To Work in the UK check. The post may require NPPV or other security clearances. The NPPV (non-police personnel vetting) check also requires that the post-holder has lived in the UK for the past 3 years with a few exceptions. Vetting and clearance requirements: NPPV 2 (Police Vetting), Enhanced DBS check.

Access to work is 25 minutes from King’s Cross Station. Offers are conditional upon successful outcomes of these checks; otherwise, Catch
22 reserves the right to withdraw the offer.
