Interim Financial Controller

Financial Controller – Brent Cross (Hybrid) (6-12 month fixed term contract)

Working pattern: Hybrid (3 days office / 2 days remote)

Reporting to: Head of Finance

A growing and dynamic organisation is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to strengthen its finance function and enhance reporting quality. This is a broad role offering exposure to senior leadership, audit, and process improvement initiatives.

You will lead core reporting activities, oversee transactional finance teams, and play a key role in budgeting, forecasting, and year-end delivery.

• Prepare monthly management reporting including full P&L and balance sheet
• Lead and mentor AP/AR and credit control teams, ensuring performance and accuracy
• Review bad debt provisions and oversee balance sheet reconciliations
• Ensure accruals and prepayments are posted correctly and processes remain compliant
• Complete monthly intercompany reconciliations
• Prepare quarterly VAT returns and royalty/co-branding income reporting
• Manage loan postings and FX revaluations within the ERP system
• Support annual budget, forecasts, and re-forecast processes
• Play a key role in year-end accounts
  , disclosures, and auditor liaison
• Support implementation of new revenue and leasing standards
• Partner with the Head of Finance to enhance reporting and controls

• Proven experience in a financial reporting or Financial Controller role
• Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS
• Experience working with external auditors
• ERP experience (SAP Business One or similar)
• Experience with systems implementation or finance transformation
• Tax and VAT reporting knowledge
• Power BI or advanced reporting tools
