Warehouse Operative/Forklift Driver

My client are a very well established Entertainment Lighting provider, who specialise in providing specialist lighting equipment to a range of well-known companies within the music, sporting and Film & Television sectors.

Due to business growth, they are looking to add a new member of staff to their Warehouse/Logistics team in order to support the supply chain, stock holding and logistics of equipment and stock supplies of electronic components. The role will require someone who is suitably qualified and ideally has experience with a Counterbalance Forklift Truck. You must be physically fit and able to carry out manual handling.

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday (either 8.30am to 5.00pm or 9.00am to 5.30pm), with 1 Hour lunch break

Enhanced Pay rates and Overtime available

Training on Forklift Truck once permanent appointed in role

Weekly pay during the Temporary period (then switches to monthly Pay)

Key Features of the role:

Picking & Packing orders for Despatch (involves physical work and some manual handling)

Kitting (can be trained if not experienced)

Loading/unloading of vehicles (includes Manual Handling)

Forklift Operation (Ideally have/have held in the past, a valid Counterbalanace Forklift Licence)

Participating in warehouse stock taking exercises

Targets:

* Ensure orders are picked accurately and finished items/kits are prepared for despatch.

* Ensure adequate levels of stock and components to meet production and delivery demand

* Help load/unload vehicles and carefully store items in the Warehouse Stores area

* Operate counterbalance forklift truck within tight spaces in the warehouse

Skills/Experience

Required:

- Previous Warehouse/Logistics/Stores experience (Minimum 1-2 year's - ideally within Despatch would be a distinct advantage);

- Computer literate with basic skills in the use of Microsoft office;

- Accuracy and Attention to detail when executing tasks;

- Ideally have a valid Counterbalanace Forklift Licence (current or expired);

- Full UK Driving Licence (Desirable, but not Essential)

- Physically fit and able to carry out some manual handling responsibilities;

- Positive manner, flexible and willing to learn.

This role offers an immediate start and will convert into a permanent role after successful completion of the Temporary period.
