Responsibilities- Be a trusted member of the team providing tax, accounting and advisory services to small‑business clients.
- Oversee and provide services related to accounting, bookkeeping and prepared or compiled financials.
- Review and analyze accounting records, provide analysis and consultation, and communicate with clients regarding accounting and business matters.
- Deliver best‑in‑class customer service with an emphasis on responsiveness, timeliness, professionalism and accuracy.
- Lead and plan client engagements, continuously evaluating processes and procedures to implement efficiencies and identify internal control issues.
- Provide recommendations for business and process improvements based on knowledge of client operations, processes and objectives.
- Manage and build client relationships, act as liaison to address and resolve client issues, and assist team leaders in researching and providing additional services to clients.
- Effectively delegate and oversee work efforts by setting goals, providing resources, removing obstacles and scheduling deadlines to meet client expectations for delivery.
- Maintain current knowledge of local, state and federal tax practices and laws.
- Assist with managing client engagement staffing, billings/collections and ensure client profitability targets are met.
- Utilize entrepreneurial skills to network and build strong internal and external client relationships.
- Invest in professional development through firm‐wide learning and development programs.
- Support the growth and development of team members through Baker Tilly’s Care and Teach philosophy.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting; master’s or advanced degree desirable.
- CPA or JD required.
- Five (5)+ years of experience in federal and state tax compliance, accounting and advisory services in a professional services firm.
- Two (2)+ years of supervisory experience, mentoring and counseling associates.
- Strong management, analytical, organizational, interpersonal, project management and communication skills.
- Ability to lead and supervise others, provide exceptional client service, and demonstrate commitment to continuous learning.
- Highly developed software and Microsoft Suite skills.
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship preferred.
$110,000 to $160,000. Actual compensation is influenced by skills, experience, qualifications and geographic location.
