Salary Range- Energy Trading Analyst I: $75,600 - $94,500 (based on qualifications). With tenure and strong performance in this role an employee may earn up to a maximum of $113,400, annualized.
- Energy Trading Analyst II: $87,920 - $109,900 (based on qualifications). With tenure and strong performance in this role an employee may earn up to a maximum of $131,880, annualized.
- Energy Trading Analyst III: $110,800 - $138,500 (based on qualifications). With tenure and strong performance in this role an employee may earn up to a maximum of $166,200, annualized.
- Energy Trading Analyst Senior: $121,600 - $152,000 (based on qualifications). With tenure and strong performance in this role an employee may earn up to a maximum of $182,400, annualized.
- Introductory Period: New employees holding regular positions must complete an introductory period of twelve months.
Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of Energy Structuring & Trading, the Energy Trading Analyst I supports wholesale energy marketing and trading activities through quantitative and economic analysis. This entry-level role assists with modeling, market analysis, and transaction review to help maximize the value of Chelan PUD's energy portfolio while ensuring alignment with risk management guidelines.
Job Responsibilities- Assist in analyzing energy, capacity, and carbon market variables and current market conditions.
- Support development and maintenance of power supply, demand, and price curve models.
- Review energy transactions for accuracy and compliance with risk management guidelines.
- Assist with forecasting, reporting, and portfolio performance monitoring.
- Support compliance analysis related to renewable energy and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Basic knowledge of energy markets, finance principles, and contract administration.
- Familiarity with federal and state power industry regulations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data visualization tools.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Business, Economics, or related field.
