Description Of Duties/Essential FunctionsUnder immediate supervision, for a period not to exceed twelve (12) months, participates in an Agency-sponsored training program, receiving training and controlled working assignments designed to develop broad knowledge, understanding, and practical skills necessary to perform the duties of a journeyman Revenue Special Agent assigned to a Riverboat Casino; actively participates in mandatory police academy training; performs segments of the more difficult background and enforcement investigations under close supervision of a higher level officer.
Minimum RequirementsRequires completion of four years of college, with major coursework in law enforcement, business administration, pre-law or related areas; up to two years of police investigative or enforcement experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the college training; requires successful completion of a firearms qualification course during first 12 months of employment; requires a valid Illinois driver’s license; requires elementary knowledge of accounting and auditing principles and practices;
requires elementary knowledge of the criminal justice system as it relates to investigations. Requires ability to successfully complete the mandatory police academy training. Physical requirements are: ability to stand for long periods of time, extensive walking, ability to lift and reach above shoulder level and willingness to travel frequently, often keeping irregular hours.
