Role descriptionA clinically competent, registered, professional nurse who delivers care to patients through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Interacts effectively with patients, significant others, and health care team members, while maintaining standards of professional nursing (Washington State Nurse Practice Act, WAC, ANA Code of Ethics).
Position Reports ToUnit Clinical Manager/Director
Essential Functions- Perform related assignments as requested to promote positive visitor, family, and co-worker relations.
- Coordinate and provide high quality patient care in a caring and compassionate manner, utilizing the nursing process and unit/department standards of practice.
- Accurately collect patient information needed to provide safe, high quality care. Complete holistic ongoing assessments and respond appropriately.
- Develop, implement and continually reassess patient’s individualized plan of care.
- Provide nursing care for patients including administration of medications, completion of nursing procedures and/or treatments.
- Determine and complete appropriate nursing actions to meet care goals; address physical, psychological, social and rehabilitative needs.
- Educate patient/family and/or significant others with timely health information and provide written materials.
- Continually evaluate discharge plan for appropriateness, educational needs, and changes as needed.
- Document care provided, assessments, plan of care, interventions, and responses in the patient’s medical record.
- Demonstrate ability to handle emergency situations promptly and professionally.
- Maintain current knowledge of workflows, processes, and evidence-based procedures.
- Delegate appropriately and oversee care provided by non-licensed assistive personnel.
- Participate in performance evaluation/improvement processes; pursue professional development.
- Comply with Washington Nurse Practice Act and unit standards; stay current with legal aspects of nursing.
- Communicate and collaborate with healthcare team including physicians, patients, and families to facilitate effective care.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment per policies.
- Participate in quality improvement programs.
- Adhere to Confluence Health and Wenatchee Valley Hospital or Central Washington Hospital policies and unit standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required:
- RN Current licensure in the state of Washington (RCW 18.88) or licensure through Multistate Nurse Licensure Compact (SSB 5499).
- Active Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
- Basic computer skills (Windows navigation, mouse use, keyboarding, email, password management).
