Inventory Specialist

Customer Experience

• Engages customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience.

• Executes and coaches team members on warehouse and vendor inventory management processes.
• Scans deliveries and marks items received; opens tickets for inaccurate orders.
• Completes pharmacy inventory activities including recalls, returns, and prescription claims.
• Maintains accurate inventory counts and ensures compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.
• Supports front end and pharmacy ordering and monitors manual orders to identify excess orders.
• Enforces pricing activities, including markdowns, price changes, and regulatory pricing tasks.
• Assists in preparing for physical inventory and supports inventory day activities across the store.
• Keeps all counters and shelves clean and well merchandised.
• Coaches store team on package delivery activities, scanning in/out of packages, and daily inventory functions.
• Registers all related sales on the point-of-sale system, including scanning errors, price verifications, item voids, customer refunds, and cash drops to safe.

• Attends company-based trainings for continuous development and completes all e-learning modules, including safety training requirements.
• Obtains and maintains a valid pharmacy license/certification as required by the state.

• Serves as a liaison between management and non-management team members by coaching and developing capabilities with inventory systems.
• Communicates assigned tasks to team members and reports disciplinary issues and customer complaints to management.

• Six months of prior work experience with Walgreens (internal candidates) or one year of prior retail work experience (external candidates).
• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
• “Achieving expectations” rating on last performance review and no written disciplinary actions in the previous 12 months (internal candidates only).
• Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to multitask and manage execution.
• Experience identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems.

• Prefer previous experience as a shift lead, pharmacy technician, designated hitter, or customer service associate.
• Prefer prior work experience with Walgreens, with an evaluation on file.
