Staff RN Per Diem 12 Hr – Emergency Services at Knapp Medical Center. Join an award‑winning team dedicated to quality, compassion, and community. Knapp, a not‑for‑profit hospital, serves Weslaco, Texas and the Mid‑Valley area with 227 beds and Level III Trauma Center, Advanced Primary Stroke Center, and Level II Newborn Nursery. • Deliver safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice and direct patient/family teaching.
• Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining professional nursing standards in Telemetry.
• Accountably care for patients in the Emergency Department and communicate with physicians regarding changes in patient clinical condition and diagnostic studies.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in the condition and/or response to treatment.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS Certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS Certificate within 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Current PALS Certificate and/or ENPC within 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum of one year experience as a staff nurse RN in an acute care hospital setting; ER setting preferred.
• Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

• Paramedic Base Station ED: MICN within 12 months of hire and maintain current.
• EDAP certified facilities:
  Completion of emergency pediatric course 1 and 2 within 6 months of hire.
• Non-OB facilities: NRP Certificate 90 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNNC) within 12 months of hire required.
