Overview
The adjunct instructor develops, prepares and teaches a variety of coursework. Adjunct faculty are employed on a term-by-term basis. Courses within the College may be taught during the day, evening, weekends, and/or online.
Responsibilities- Provide varied and relevant instruction designed to meet the educational needs of assigned students in accordance with the College's policies, procedures, and approved curricula.
- Respond to the special needs and reasonable accommodations of students with disabilities.
- Coordinate with the Director of Disabilities Services to ensure that reasonable accommodations are appropriately provided.
- Provide students with a course syllabus (minimum requirements per the Syllabus Template) and submit copies to the appropriate Academic Dean (West Campus) and to the Provosts (East Campus, North Campus, and Porter Campus at Wiregrass Ranch).
- Submit examinations to the Provost, Academic Dean, and/or Associate Dean as requested.
- Maintain and submit accurate grade rosters and class attendance records within established deadlines; assess student progress and post grades.
- Provide a minimum of one office hour per week for each course taught, either immediately before/after class or by appointment.
- Adhere to College and departmental policies; participate in professional development activities.
- Review the Full-Time Faculty and Adjunct Faculty Handbook to become familiar with the College's District Board of Trustees Rules and Internal Management Memoranda.
- Attend and participate in faculty meetings as assigned; perform other duties as directed by the supervisor.
- Maintain satisfactory attendance.
Master's Degree in Government, International Relations, or Political Science, or a Master's degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in any combination of the qualifying fields listed below. Degree must be from a regionally accredited institution.

A Juris Doctorate degree with a current unrestricted Florida Bar Association license can be used for certification to instruct POS 2041 and POS 2112.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Advanced organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of students.
- Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with all stakeholders.
- Ability to maintain detailed student records.
