JOB SUMMARYResponsible for assisting the Exceptional Student Education (ESE) teacher(s) in providing a well‑organized, smoothly functioning educational environment in which students with cognitive, physical, communication and emotional disabilities can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resources, under the direct supervision of a Highly Qualified Teacher.
EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE- Associate Degree, completion of 60 semester hours of college or passing score of 457 on the Para Pro Assessment. Information about Para Pro can be located .org/parapro.
Conditions of Employment may be considered for highly qualified candidates who are willing to complete Para Pro testing during the school year.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONSSatisfactory completion required within 6-month period of the following training and/or certification provided by the District:
- Pediatric First Aid/Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
- First Aid
- Medication administration
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI)
- In addition, CPR and First Aid training must be completed every two years and CPI training need to be kept current and renewed on an annual basis.
