Advanced Practice Provider - Physician Assistant Surgery - Foot and Ankle Specialist
Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health is looking for an experienced Physician Assistant to assist in surgeries and clinic operations in our Foot and Ankle Specialty.
Position SummaryThe Physician Assistant, under the supervision of the physician, provides inpatient and outpatient management, consultations, and co‑management of surgical patients according to established practice guidelines and utilizing evidence‑based clinical practice standards.

Inpatient and outpatient settings; assists in surgery, works in clinics, and assists with call.

- Assess physical and psychosocial status of patients via interview, health history, physical exam, and diagnostic studies.
- Develop diagnosis and collaborate with interdisciplinary team to formulate and implement treatment plans.
- Surgically close wounds, incision and drainage, debridement, dressing (surgeon remains in area).
- Scrub with collaborating surgeon in operating room.
- Perform complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as credentialed.
- Diagnose medical and surgical problems and prescribe necessary treatments and services.
- Implement appropriate management based on lab results, assessments, diagnostics, follow‑up studies, therapeutic measures, admission and discharge care per evidence‑based medicine.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve patient care issues to improve outcomes.
- Dictate and document accurately and timely.
- Perform patient education and provide preventive health services.
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds.
- Participate in department call rotation and/or weekend/holiday rounding as required.
- Prescribe medication.
- Participate in quality initiatives to ensure consistent attainment of key quality indicators.
- Support IRB‑approved clinical research trials through activities such as ordering diagnostic tests, prescreening patients, recording results, administering therapeutic interventions, and documenting outcomes.
Graduate of accredited physician assistant program.
Licensure/Certification- Current licensure in the State of Florida renewed every two years, including prescriptive authority.
- Maintain NCCPA certification.
- Maintain BLS certification.
- Maintain ACLS, NRP, PALS certification as required by department.
Clinical or surgical experience preferred.
