Registered Nurse (RN) for Advanced Care in the Pre-Post Cath Lab. Duties include patient assessment, advanced interventions, monitoring and management of specialized equipment, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. Role requires entry-level nurse with 1 year of experience and certifications such as BLS/Health Care Provider. This position is full‑time, in a state‑of‑the‑art five‑story hospital serving the West Florida region.
Job SummaryAdministers patient care and supports patients with advanced illnesses or injuries requiring timely, intense, and complex care. Provides higher caregiver‑to‑patient ratio and advanced skills to stabilize patients' medical conditions.
ssential Functions- Demonstrates critical knowledge, skills, and judgment to care for patients requiring complex assessment and therapies, high‑intensity interventions, and continuous nursing vigilance.
- Utilizes information and assessment data to anticipate and respond with confidence and adapt to rapidly changing patient conditions.
- Identifies and prioritizes information to take immediate and decisive evidence‑based, patient‑focused action.
- Monitors and adjusts specialized equipment used on patients, and interprets and records electronic displays, such as intracranial pressures, central venous pressures, pulmonary artery pressures, and cardiac rhythms from cardiac monitors, respirators, ventilators, oxygen pumps, etc.
- Responds to life‑saving situations based on nursing standards and protocol.
- Observes, monitors, and assesses patients’ condition, recognizes serious situations and takes preplanned emergency measures when a Physician is not immediately available.
- Assesses patient’s needs and develops or revises an individualized plan of care based on patient responses, evaluating progress toward expected outcomes.
- Represents patient and family advocate and participates in interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Functions as a preceptor, charge nurse, unit educator, or nurse clinician as required.
- Documents patient care consistently, meeting regulatory standards and including assessment, education, medication administration, treatments, and safety.
- Prioritizes patient care in accordance with evidence‑based practice standards.
- Delegates tasks and duties to team members in accordance with patient needs and team capabilities.
- Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures, ADA, FMLA, and applicable standards.
- Contributes to continuous improvement of health‑care practice and organizational outcomes.
- Participates in unit and organizational committees, peer review, mentoring, and coaching.
- Utilizes supplies efficiently and keeps a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Attends staff development in‑services, meetings, and nursing committee meetings.
- Partners with leadership to identify professional development needs.
- Maintains equipment and supplies for ECMO/perfusion services, providing information to supervisors as needed.
- Provides critical nursing resource support to CVICU or other areas as directed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Graduate of an approved school of nursing. Meets all mandatory, developmental and performance competency requirements for Orlando Health and the unit/department.
Licensure/Certification- Current State of Florida RN license.
- Current BLS/Health Care Provider certification.
- ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC required for certain areas.
1 year of nursing experience required.
