The Retail Associate ensures customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate smiles, greets customers, treats fellow associates with respect, follows company best practices, maintains a clean work area, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Retail Associate is engaged in assigned tasks during all working hours and performs a range of functions across the store as business needs require.
Essential Functions- Practices safe behaviors and maintains a safe shopping environment.
- Maintains clutter‑free sales floor and clears emergency exits.
- Treats customers and associates with respect and courtesy.
- Assists customers at the register and elsewhere, answering questions politely.
- Provides prompt responses to customer service calls.
- Supports the company brand at all times.
- Performs cleaning tasks: sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters and mirrors, replenishing restroom supplies, disinfecting high‑touch areas.
- Maintains professional appearance and adheres to dress code.
- Performs daily sizing and recovery to keep store organized.
- Expedites merchandise receipts and merchandises items per guidelines.
- Understands loss prevention and merchandise protection standards.
- Safeguards confidential information and cash/credit card information.
- Follows mark‑out‑of‑stock policies and cash transaction procedures.
- Demonstrates urgency to maximize productivity.

- Performs basic mathematical calculations common in retail.
- Uses all store equipment, including PDA, registers, and PC.
- Spends 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the store.
- Bends, squats, kneels, climbs, carries, reaches, and stoops regularly.
- Pops, pulls, and lifts more than 25 pounds occasionally.
- Uses janitorial equipment and other supplies.
- Stockroom shifts involve push, pull, and lift over 20 pounds.
