Position Summary Sport Coaches will run the facility’s youth sports programs, including leagues, developmental classes, after‑school/home‑school programs, clinics, camps, private/semi‑private training sessions, and birthday parties. The Coach is responsible for coaching and developing athletes, designing and implementing training programs, providing instruction and feedback, and fostering a positive and competitive environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Teaching relevant skills, tactics, and techniques to a wide range of athletes, individuals and groups.
- Developing and implementing structured training programs to enhance athletes’ skills, fitness, and strategies.
- Monitoring, evaluating, and enhancing athlete performance and progress.
- Providing suitable feedback via positivity, encouragement, example, and motivation.
- Demonstrating activities clearly by breaking down tasks or techniques into a sequence.
- Promoting discipline, respect, and sportsmanship in all team activities.
- Being friendly and courteous with athletes, parents, and facility team members.
- Identifying athlete strengths and areas for development.
- Ensuring a safe environment for all athletes.
- Staying updated with the latest coaching techniques, sports science, and industry best practices.
- Performing all additional duties assigned by management.
- Coaching licenses (or active pursuit of) preferred.
- At least 2 years of coaching/teaching experience in youth sports programs for athletes of various aptitudes.
- Excellent interpersonal, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Team player with strong leadership and motivational skills.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, predominantly after‑school and weekends.
- Current CPR/FIRST AID certifications or willingness to obtain within a specified period.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Strong knowledge of sports coaching rules, techniques, and strategies.
- Strong organizational and time‑management abilities.
- Passion for sports and athlete development.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds waist high.
- Must be able to move or lift lightweight equipment.
- Position requires standing and activity for extended periods of time (indoors or outdoors), squatting, stooping, jogging, or bending into awkward positions while performing job functions.
